The Getty has acquired Irving Penn’s master set of prints from his series, The Small Trades. Penn considered these blue-collar portraits some of the most important of his long and influential career.

The kibbutz, a photographer’s community in Brooklyn, has been shut down after city officials found a bakery in the basement with 50,000 pounds of wheat grain (stored grain can be highly combustible). The move has left a number of photographers homeless including National Geographic photographer David Alan Harvey.
